Our Beginnings

In 1959, a group of Youngstown area residents established a conservative congregation with a Presbyterian form of government. Originally known as South Chapel, the group was later identified as Robinwood Church and became affiliated with the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Evangelical Synod (RPCES). The denomination later became part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).

In 1972, some members of the congregation felt led to establish a new work in Poland, OH, which came to be known as Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Ten years later the Robinwood and Immanuel congregations were united under the name Cornerstone Presbyterian Church.

Throughout their history the congregations have been served by the following men: Werner Meitling, John Kay, Daniel Krucich, Donald Hicks, Timothy Stigers, William Wolfgang, and David Foster. Mark Bell became Cornerstone’s Pastor in April 2009.
