Outreach / Missions

“Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded and Lo I am with you always.” Matthew 28:19-20.
The Outreach/Missions committee exists to direct and inform the congregation in carrying out the Great Commission, reaching our local community and those around the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Cornerstone supports missionaries working worldwide through MTW (Mission to the World) and other national and local organizations including Harvest USA, Coalition for Christian Outreach (YSU), Pregnancy Help Center, Rescue Mission of Mahoning Valley, The Needle’s Eye, and the Way Station.

WIC (Women in the Church)

The stated purpose of Women in the Church is that “every woman know Christ personally and be committed to extending His kingdom in her life, home, church, community, and throughout the world.” Cornerstone’s WIC is open to of all women who attend Cornerstone, and meets at the church monthly. WIC plans activities and fellowship events and works to encourage and support members of the congregation and various ministries. Opportunities for involvement include preparation of funeral dinners, an active prayer chain and a year-long Secret Sister program.

Bible Study / Fellowship

A ladies’ Bible study meets at the church at 9:30 am on Tuesdays during the school year.
Two small group studies meet in the evenings during the school year: Nurture Group I (NG I) meets at 7:00 pm Wednesday. NG II meets at 7:00 pm Thursday.
In the summer, the Nurture Groups are replaced by church-wide Backyard Fellowships: bi-weekly Wednesday evening events hosted by various church families. Families attending bring their own lawn chairs and a dessert to share, and the host family provides beverages and a devotional activity or message.
The men of the church meet at 8:30 am on the third Saturday of each month at the What’s Cook’n restaurant in Boardman for breakfast, fellowship and a devotional message.
